House paint for salt-water environment

Q.  I would like your recommendation for house paint for the salt water environment. Do you know any that contain ceramic crystals in the paint for reflecting the heat?

A.    There are paints with water-borne ceramics, but they are for indoor use only and made for washability and not reflectivity.

If you are looking for a type of paint to reflect heat from the sun, the lighter the color the better — white being the best.

As for a salt-water environment, there are waterproof elastomeric coatings used in high humidity areas like southern Florida and the Gulf coast of Texas. See your paint stores for recommendations.
