Bamboo floor maintenance

Q.  I have a new Bamloc bamboo floor, only a year old, and am at a loss as to how to correct the problem. I have put a Jute rug on top of it and now removed the rug to find a stripped effect it had on the floor. It looks like it removed some of the sheen from the floor where the rug was touching hardest. I have tried old English, lemon oil, and Restore a Finish to no avail.

Do you have any ideas for me? Thank you for helping with these issues!

A.  Bamloc’s website is explicit on the maintenance and repair of this type of bamboo flooring. Go to http://www.mrbambooflooring.com. Click on Products and follow the prompts on the drop down menu to Bamboo then Bamloc. There you will find recommendations on maintenance and repair, including directions not to use certain kinds of household cleaners or rugs. and the name of the only cleaning products that the company says should be used. This information is in a short maintenance manual for the product which you can print out as a PDF document. I would give you the direct link to get to this, but the link is “protected” so you can get to it only via the company’s website.
