Lime deposits restrict hot water

Q.  We are seeking your advice regarding a problem with our hot water system. We have our hot water connected to our furnace. The tank was put in six years ago. We now have a  problem with very low hot water flow in our bathrooms–the kitchen sink is okay. We have well water, which is hard. I wonder if pipes are clogged with lime, etc. If so, is there a way to flush them?

Thanks for your help. I am a faithful reader–we have your book and got it placed in our library. Thank you.

A. It sounds as if there are lime deposits in the coil in the boiler that provides your domestic water. A licensed HVAC contractor is the person to call to have the deposits removed by acid wash.
